- ESMT ranks 17th globally in Financial Times Executive Education ranking 2011, up ten places in comparison to 2010
- Only business school based in Germany in the ranking
BERLIN, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ESMT European School of Management and Technology in Berlin has been placed among the ten best business schools in Europe in this year’s Financial Times Executive Education ranking. In a global comparison, ESMT ranked 17th overall and shares this place with London Business School. For ESMT this is an improvement of ten places when compared to last year’s place of 27. ESMT is the only business school based in Germany in the ranking.
The Financial Times Executive Education ranking evaluates two areas, customized and open enrollment programs. In the area of open enrollment, ESMT moved up six places and ranked 15th worldwide and 7th among European business schools. Customized programs at ESMT jumped 11 places and placed 23rd worldwide and 11th in Europe.
"ESMT is on its way to the top in Europe," said Lars-Hendrik Roeller, President of ESMT.
Olaf Ploetner, Dean of Executive Education, added, "Our constant interaction with participants, our program design, and our internationality were important factors in our positive performance."
The ranking found the diversity of the faculty and the follow-up to seminars to be especially strong at ESMT. This included factors such as excellent networking opportunities and support in the workplace. In addition, ESMT open enrollment programs excelled in the areas of teaching materials and repeat business and growth. Customized programs did particularly well in course design, most notably with flexible course structures and the use of business experts as lecturers.
"ESMT is successfully following the objectives set by its founders," said Dr. Clemens Boersig, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, ESMT and Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Deutsche Bank AG. "In the area of executive education, ESMT has already delivered on its goal of being ‘top ten in ten years’."
