SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GCT Semiconductor, a leading supplier of Mobile WiMAX solutions to the global market, today announced that its Mobile WiMAX Wave 2 single-chip GDM7205, which supports both 2.3GHz and 2.5GHz, has been selected and integrated into LG Innotek’s new M-WiMAX SIP module. This module is the smallest Mobile WiMAX module available today (15mmx15mm), and includes GCT’s market-proven WiMAX single-chip. Based on GCT’s industry-proven CMOS technology, the GDM7205 baseband plus transceiver system-on-a-chip implements MIMO and all MAC and PHY features required for subscriber station operation into one monolithic die.

LG Innotek’s M-WiMAX SIP Module offers a one-chip solution integrating PMIC, TCXO, EEPROM, memory, and GDM7205 for consumer electronics such as mobile phone applications. GDM7205 reduces PCB design complexity and offers small form factor to optimize implementation in small PCB areas, enabling LG Innotek to make an ultra small and slim module for Mobile WiMAX devices. LG Innotek’s module has 72-pins and supports SDIO, UART, USIM, and JTAG interface.
