International exhibitors at BroadcastAsia2011 to present cutting edge advancements in digital cinematography
SINGAPORE, 30 May 2011 - BroadcastAsia2011, in enabling companies to capitalise on the growing trend of quality Asian content making its way onto international screens, will be hosting its first dedicated Cinematography/Film/Production zone on the exhibition show floor at Suntec Singapore from 21-24 June 2011.
The Cinematography/Film/Production zone will be a one-stop venue for leaders in the broadcast industry to showcase groundbreaking technologies designed to improve the quality of films and enhance work efficiency. The zone for filmmakers and TV production professionals will see more than 30 exhibitors unveil their company's latest breakthroughs in visual effects, editing/colouring and creative production at levels 3 and 4 of Suntec Singapore. Exhibitors within the Cinematography/Film/Production zone are projecting robust business activity at the exhibition as the film and production industry continues to show a strong recovery from the global financial crisis.
"Film continues to be an integral focus of BroadcastAsia, and we are seeing more exhibitors leveraging the event to engage buyers with their cutting edge technologies and services. Launching the Cinematography/Film/Production zone at this year's show is just one of the many ways in which we are working to connect buyers and technology providers to advance the future of film-making in Asia," said Mr. Calvin Koh, Senior Project Manager for BroadcastAsia from show organiser, Singapore Exhibition Services.
Capitalising on Increasing Regional Investment in the Broadcast Industry
According to the Global Entertainment & Media Outlook 2010-2014 report from PricewaterhouseCoopers, Asia Pacific is set to become the second fastest growing media and entertainment market in the world with an estimated growth rate of 6.4 per cent Compound Annual Return through to 2014 to US$475 million[1], above the global average of five per cent.
For film makers and producers facing shortening production timelines and incessant demands for quality in an increasingly competitive industry, keeping abreast of the latest breakthroughs in technology and film production is critical. Broadcasters are also facing greater challenges in streamlining workflow and cost-efficient operations with the upgrading and maintenance of technologies in their studios.
Visitors to the Cinematography/Film/Production zone will see and experience firsthand the latest inventions and technology upgrades in 3D, HD, motion/film production and post-production software that maximise production efficiency without compromising on quality. Buyers will be presented with a myriad of options as they make hard decisions on purchases that best complements and enhances their company's operations.
Companies that will take centre stage include Angenieux SA, AV8 Media, Blackmagic, Canon Singapore, Cine Equipment, Filmlight, Gruppo Manfrotto S.R.L, Imagineer, Kino Flo Inc, Magix AG, Matthews, Miller, Movietech, Quantel, Sony, Swift Electronics Co. Ltd, The Foundry, The Media Village and The Tiffen Company LLC, to name a few. For many companies, this newly created zone will bring strong networking and sales opportunities with the presence of a ready pool of international clientele.
"BroadcastAsia2011 is a great platform for us to showcase our latest design software innovations to buyers from the regional and around the world," said Patrick de Silva, Director of The Media Village. "The reputation and international appeal of the event has gathered the broadcast industry all under one roof, making it extremely convenient and cost-effective for us to reach out to potential customers on a global scale."
