SHANGHAI--(Business Wire)--Hosted by the Guangdong Nuclear Society and CBI Events, the 3rd Annual China Nuclear Power Leadership Summit 2011 will be held on October 27-29 in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, China. Based on the successful convening of nuclear power leadership summits in 2010 and 2009, the upcoming event will bring over 150+ market participants together to discuss about strategies and prospects of China’s nuclear power industry.
According to China Nuclear Energy Association, despite the serious Fukushima nuclear accident, the overall goal of China's nuclear power development should not be affected. This week, the second generating unit of the second phase of Ling'ao Nuclear Power Station in Dayawan started commercial operation, making Dayawan the largest nuclear power base in China.
During the Twelfth Five-year Plan period, China's nuclear power capacity under construction will reach 38 million kilowatts, and a total of a 70 million kilowatt capacity is expected to complete by 2020. By the end of 2015, the annual nuclear energy production will be not less than 320 billion kilowatt-hours. Over the next five years, the nuclear power industry will receive approximately RMB 70 billion investment in fixed assets per year.
The 3rd Annual China Nuclear Power Leadership Summit 2011 will provide a rare opportunity for the nuclear power industry players to discuss the most concerned issues. What is the blueprint of global nuclear power like? Is it time to approve the newest nuclear power projects in China again after Japan Nuclear Crisis? What is China’s strategies for uranium acquisition? What is the price trend for natural uranium? How do nuclear power plants guarantee their security? How does China localize technologies to accelerate the development of a nuclear power standards system with Chinese characteristic? How do the owners supervise the process of key nuclear equipment procurement and installation?
The Chinese government is firmly determined to develop nuclear power; the guideline has clearly changed from "actively developing nuclear energy" to "actively and steadily developing nuclear energy"; the scale is unprecedented, spreading from the coast to the inland – a historical opportunity has emerged for the nuclear power industry in China.
