Industry leader in Ghana will leverage O3b network to expand internet service throughout sub-Saharan region

ST. JOHN, Jersey, Channel Islands -- (BUSINESS WIRE) --

O3b Networks the developer of a new fibre quality, satellite-based, global Internet backbone announced today that Satconsult, Ltd. of Ghana has signed a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract for high speed, low latency IP trunking from O3b Networks. Using O3b Networks' managed carrier service, Quick Start, Satconsult is will expand their services throughout East and West, sub-Saharan Africa.

O3b Networks, funded principally by Google Inc., Liberty Global, Inc. and HSBC Principal Investments, is building the world's first ultra-low-latency, fiber-speed satellite network. The network is designed to improve Internet access for the millions of consumers and businesses in emerging and developing markets. Activation is scheduled for late 2010.
